Where to put the cutlery at the table; how is it correctly placed; where does it stay during the breaks? And do you need separate cutlery for each course if time is of the essence? Is the traditional menu cutlery still contemporary? As a manufacturer of cutlery, Carl Mertens naturally contemplates such questions. The result: today, table rules are handled more expertly than ever - not etiquette, but style and aesthetic understanding of the host now determines what is "correct". An elegant new interpretation of the classic knife rest and simultaneously a suggestion for a new cutlery order was created in the context of the young design project "tableware" supported by Carl Mertens: Bea, an innovative rest for knife, fork and spoon is new in the program. Bea provides room for three cutlery pieces as well as a glass. A contemporary design approach for a young and uncomplicated table culture.
